Who is Reece (Reecie) Downes?

Reecie is an 8 year old schoolboy from Barnsley who has a dream of becoming a professional Speedway rider.

Reecie started riding in his grandads garden at the age of 4. He moved on to the training track at Sheffield when he was 5, and then on to the full size track at Scunthorpe when the training facility at Sheffield closed.

As you can see from the banner above Reecie is now the proud mascot of Scunthorpe Scorpions and is a full on junior speedway rider...No brakes, no gears, no fear!
